This page
is dedicated to london sightseeing information - information
on the best things to see in London and how to see them. We have
included
not just
sight
seeing
tours,
but some of the best things to see. There are lots of other places
you
can
go
and lots of things to see in London (all of which will be included
on one of our pages), but we think these are the
best london 'sights'.
The following
links take you to a page with information on various things to
see in london, including sightseeing tours (the list is
in alphabetical order):
If you're
on a budget (or even of you're not), have a look at our 'free'
London bus sightseeing tour on the london
for free page. All you need to have a travel
card (but you'll want one of them anyway) and you can see many
of the sights a paid for tour would take in, for free. Plus you
can hop on and hop off.
Buckingham
Palace - watch the changing of the guard
free or pay to see more of the palace
Ceremony
of the keys (tower of london) (free, but
apply for tickets 2 - 3 months in advance)
Changing
of the guard (buckingham palace and horse guards)
Covent Garden -
street theatre at its best
Downing
Street - close to trafalgar square. Worth
a quick peep but, because of the gates at the start of
the road, there's not much to see
Houses
of Parliament (admission charges for tours,
only available to non UK residents during summer recess)
Leicester
Square London - cinemas, theatres, food,
close to Eros and Soho (and very busy).
The
Monument - climb the 312 steps to the
top of this column commemorating the great fire and
rebuilding of london, for great views of the city.
The
London Eye - hop aboard for a 30 minute
'flight' for the best views of london. Quite expensive
and a you have to queue even if you've pre-booked,
but
worth
the wait.
From
443
feat up and with 360 degree views, on a clear day,
you can see for 25 miles.
