Where: Strand,
WC2R 0ET
What:
Dubbed 'Murderous Instincts : The salsa musical'. A family
comes together in the wake of their father's death; each
one
so grief
stricken
that
the
foremost
thought in their mind is how big a cut of the rum tycoon's
money they will get. When mother and widow Edwina disappears
tensions erupt? No-one knows if she is even still alive,
and if not, who killed her? Everyone has a secret to hide,
not least the ominous stranger patrolling the gates of
the estate.
A hit when it first opened in Puerto Rico in 2002, the mysterious
goings on at the Bucking ham estate are set to a glorious salsa
soundtrack by leading Puerto Rican composer Alberto Carrion.
The Olivier Award-winning Nichola McAuliffe, last in the West
End as Baroness Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, plays disappearing
widow Edwina, with musical theatre regular Kevin Colson as Adolfo.
Choreography is provided by World Salsa champion Jhesus Aponte,
who also makes an appearance in the show.
