When Restaurant
Magazine revealed its prestigious 50 Best Restaurants in the
World for 2004, chosen by an international
panel of more than 300 hard-to-please restaurateurs, chefs and
critics, London restaurants 'dominated the list' (according to
the press - well, there were more london restaurants than from
any other city).
Those listed
included classic fine-dining restaurants such as Le Gavroche
and The Square,
fashionable haunts with comfort food such as The Ivy and The
Wolseley, winner of the 'editors choice' award, and quirky modern
classics
such as cult eatery St John. The latter restaurant won the
'most improved restaurant' award and is famed for
its signature
dishes of 'roasted bone marrow' and 'squirrel with offal on toast.'
Below we have
included details of all of the london restaurants included in
the list (the numbers are their place in the top 50). To find

Both are quick and easy to use, you can confirm a table online at
most restaurants, and you can even read the menu at some restaurants
before you book.
