Where: Argyll
Street, London, W1V 1AD
What: One
for the whole family. A 40-plus cast and a full sized flying
car bring to the stage this adaptation of the 1968 movie-musical.
A
failing
inventor
and his two children (plus Miss Truly Scrumptous) are caught
up in a
magical adventure when the inventor rescues a
rotting car.
The show
adds some additional tunes to the original Sherman
brothers
score,
but you'll still hear Hushabye Mountain, Toot
Sweets, Me ‘Ol Bam-Boo and, of course, Chitty Chitty
Bang Bang.
The critics
like it too, the Metro rates it 'very good', as do many others.
[It is hard
to imagine that
this soppy story was written by Ian Fleming, better
known as the writer behind
the
world's
most
famous
secret agent, 007 James
Bond. The names Potts, Caractacus Potts!]
