Jewish museum opens a window onto the history and religious
life of the Jewish community in Britain and beyond. It seeks
to show the diverse roots and heritage of Jewish
people in Britain, and to increase knowledge and understanding
about Jewish life and history.
Founded in
1932, the museum has one of the world's finest collections of
Jewish ceremonial art. The Camden branch of this museum includes
a history gallery - which traces the story of the Jewish community
in Britain from the Norman Conquest to recent times - and a ceremonial
art gallery - which illustrates and explains Jewish religious
practice with objects of rarity and beauty. The finchley branch
of this museum houses the museum's social history collection.

- Thursday 10.30am - 5pm. Sundays: 10.30am - 4.30pm (last admission
half an hour before closing). Closed Friday, Saturday, Jewish
Festivals, public holiday weekends and 24 December-4 January.
The Finchley Branch of this museum is also closed on Sundays
in August.
