What: Ideal Home Exhibition: the annual london homes and gardens exhibition.

Third or fourth Saturday in March, depending on tides and the date of the oxford and cambridge boat race (the two races are usually held on separate days) : Head of the River Race

What: Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race: the boat race is over 150 years old (the 150th race took place in 2004). It starts from the university stone in Putney and finishes at Mortlake.
When: the race moved from its previous Saturday lunch time to 18:00 on a Sunday in 2004.
Where: along the thames from Putney to Mortlake. Best views are from the Surrey Bank above Chiswick Bridge, from Hammersmith Bridge
or any of the riverside pubs along the route.
Station: Putney Bridge for the start or Hammersmith and Chiswick for the best views.
