The
Proms -
(click on the link for more information) the
annual classical music festival that runs from
Mid July to Mid September, during which there
are almost nightly concerts at the Royal Albert
Hall.
What:
Open Air Theatre Season, Regent's Park: 'London’s
best-appointed summer venue' (according to The Times), relax
with a cool glass of wine, soak up the long summer evenings,
and enjoy the unique magic of watching a show as the sun sets
behind the trees. Watch performances of A Midsummer's Nights
Dream, Henry IV Part One, Camelot and a childrens play (for
2004 it is The Wind in the Willows), plus exclusive one-off
performances from some of the country’s finest musicians and
comedians.
When: Begining June to middle September, matinee
and evening performances (see the website below for times and dates).
Where: The open air theatre in the Inner Circle
of Regent's Park.

Buckingham Palace Summer Opening 2 aug - 26th sept
Visitors may tour the State Rooms, which include the Throne Room,
the Picture Gallery and the State Dining Room. The extended
route includes the gardens.
What:
FA Community Shield: formerly
the 'charity' shield, this is the traditional curtain raiser
(first official game) of the English
football season, played between the previous seasons premiership
champions and the winners of the FA cup.
When: the first or second
Sunday in August, with a 14:00 kick off.
Where: Traditionally Wembley Stadium (in Cardiff
whilst it is rebuilt, it will return to Wembley in 2006)
