What:
The
original guildhall are gallery burned down after a severe
air raid during the Blitz, in May 1941. However, with the opening
of the new guildhall art gallery in 1999, many famous and much-loved
pictures are once again on view for the
public to see and enjoy.
The guildhall
art gallery displays around 250 works of art at a time from its
extensive collection, with a programme of
temporary exhibitions exploring different themes,
allowing many lesser-known pictures from the collection to
come out of storeage.

Sunday 12:00 - 16:00. Last admission 30 minutes before closing.
The gallery is also closed when the guildhall is used for public
or state functions (see the website link below for dates).

(2005) Adults £2.50; Concessions £1.00,
Children under 16 free and free to all daily after 15:30 and all
day Friday.
