Where: Royal Institution, 20 Albermarle Street, W1

What: Michael Faraday discoverered electro-magnetic induction, electro-magnetic rotations, the magneto-optical effect, diamagnetism, field theory and much else.

The Faraday Museum is a small museum devoted to Michael Faraday’s work. It houses Faraday's historic scientific apparatus, manuscripts, his laboratory, etc.

The Royal Institution also holds events such as school lectures, public lectures, seminars and courses for members. It has a scientific library, lecture theatre and research laboratories.

Nearest underground station: Green Park

Museum opening times: Monday - Friday 10.00am - 5.30pm

Admission: (2005) £1.00 to all
