Built with money and gifts of materials contributed by the Commonwealth, it contains permanent exhibition galleries, an art gallery, a cinema and a reference library. There are also lectures, conferences and other extramural educational activities.

Opening times: Monday to Saturday 10:00 - 17:30; Sunday 14:30 to 17:00. Closed Christmas Eve and Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.
