Where: Great
Newport Street, WC2H 7JB
What: The
london debut of David Lindsay-Abaire’s Off-Broadway smash hit
anarchic comedy, Fuddy Meers is also Sam Mendes's new production
company's first show.
Fuddy Meers
follows Claire, an amnesiac who wakes
each morning with no recollection of her life to date, or
of her devoted husband and troubled teenage son. She spends
her life following her husbands very detailed lists and
plans, until one morning a masked man with a limp
and lisp, who claims
to
be her
brother,
comes
to ‘rethcue’ her.
With her
husband and son in hot pursuit, they seek out her stroke-afflicted
mother and meet the limping man’s friend,
Millett, along with Binky, his obscene glove puppet. And through
the chaos that ensues, Claire attempts to uncover
her
past.
A wickedly
witty family drama that crashes the bounds of political correctness,
as as events spiral into delicious disorder.
