What: The Glyndebourne Opera is one of the world's best-known opera houses, set in the grounds 'Glyndebourne', a magnificent country house in the peaceful countryside of Sussex, between London and Brighton.
The tradition of summer opera at Glyndebourne started in 1934, and continues today in a 1200 seat opera house which opened 60 years later, in May 1994.
Nearest station: certain trains from London Victoria to Brighton stop at Lewes station (there are bus connections from Lewes station to Glyndebourne)
